What is HyGrid?

At the heart of the Alma Hybrid platform, Alma’s unique HyGrid provides a technology combination that enables a balanced protocol to suit the specific treatment needs of each client, achieving maximum benefit.

Until now, medical and aesthetic laser devices on the market have created micro channels in the skin which are either ablative or non-ablative, and therefore limited to a single effect. Safe, precise and versatile, the HyGrid mode of the Hybrid’s ProScan applicator offers the benefit of two lasers. This means that the ablative/non-ablative effect on the skin can be customized in a matrix of the precise proportions required to optimally balance results and downtime, and meet the personal needs of each and every patient.

Delivering two laser beams side by side using an advanced galvanometric scanner, HyGrid enables a unique fractional treatment. Ablative CO2 10,600nm laser vaporizes the tissue and creates ablative micro-zones with coagulated margins. Meanwhile, non-ablative 1570nm fiber laser creates deep coagulated microthermal zones in the dermis, leaving the epidermis intact. This combination results in the synthesis of new collagen and remodeling of the extracellular matrix.

Variable ratios and densities enable highly-effective treatment of different dermatological indications, even for darker skin types, and with a low ablation density that minimizes downtime.
